My Stuff: Choosing Your Own Adventure

I'm in the hospital with my mother - those of you on Facebook know of her health troubles - but I'm going to persevere with My Stuff blog posts, if only because I need a little bit of "happy thoughts" today.  Anyhoo...

Though not "high literature" by any means, a huge staple of  my childhood were the Choose Your Own Adventure books. I ate those things up like crack-laced candy. I've always been a habitual re-reader (especially because, as a kid, I didn't have money to buy books at will, so when it was summer and I couldn't check books out of the school library, I'd re-read my books), so the idea of re-reading the same book and getting a DIFFERENT ending based on my choices was pretty cool. And you could take multiple different paths to different endings, which was even cooler. I don't know what happened to those and all my other childhood books, but these were the ones I loved the most, along with the one above on my Stuff Shelf:

...and a really cool time-travel racing story - teenager is racing, his car hits a crazy super speed, somehow goes back in time and finds himself racing an old-school roadster. The cover had a race car on it, driving out toward the reader, but I can't find it, to save my life. That one I dug the most.
